Clinical Field Experience A: ELL Classroom Observation Using SIOP – Part 1
Complete numbers 1-12 of the SIOP checklist.
Focus your observation on Lesson Preparation, Building Background, and Comprehensible Input.
•For each of the SIOP assignments (Part 1, 2, and 3), you are expected to include specific/detailed examples of what you observed under the “COMMENT” section of Appendix A. Appendix A can be found on pages 288-293. A sample of the completed SIOP checklist can also be found on pages 269-275.
• Please make sure to add your comments to explain your rationale for each score you gave for each of the checklist items. If a comment is not included points will be deducted. If a score is not included points will be deducted.
•You may RESUBMIT the original assignment for SIOP Part 1 and add to SIOP Part 2, and then 3. You do not have to delete the previous SIOP assignment you already submitted.
•Expect that your Turnitin (TII) score will be high (over 20%) which is perfectly fine since Turnitin will recognize pre-existing words that were taken from the book. If your Turnitin (TII) report comes up with a high score, please don’t worry. I will make a notation in the gradebook stating, “There is no indication of plagiarism . . .”
