A few technical notes:

• The pay stub PDF has three different pay stubs. They are identical, just use the first one to answer the questions.
• Part I has a place for “Other”. There are only the 4 listed taxes on the pay stub, you may ignore the “Other” category.
• The answer to “Who” determines the amount of the tax is looking for the entity, not a specific person. This answer should be either the Federal, State, County, or City government. For example, Federal income tax is determined by the Federal government. If you would like to go into more detail (for example the role of the IRS) you may, but it is not required.

• The best answers to the utility bill questions examine the fees as well as the taxes. What role does the Arizona Corporation Commission play in setting these taxes and fees?
• On the property tax statement, make sure you list ALL of the taxes, not just those that are clearly labeled “tax”. For example, the $72.46 paid to Anytown Elementary is a tax.
