Journal Review Instructions

Using the Jerry Falwell Library, you will conduct your own research on the topic of “Differentiated Instruction.” You will be searching for articles that discuss various differentiated instruction strategies. . You will need to select a different strategy on which to write your Journal Article Review. All articles used for this assignment must be published within the last 5 years.

After reading the article thoroughly, you will summarize in your own words the findings of your peer-reviewed academic journal article. The summary must include a review of the main points of the article, an explanation of why the author is an authority on the subject, and a summary of the differentiated instruction strategy. Make sure to include all of the key concepts presented in the article and any important examples that support or further explain these key concepts of the article.

After the summary, you will provide a critique by reflecting on the article’s effectiveness. Include strengths and weaknesses. Demonstrate critical thinking. Avoid focusing on mechanics (e.g. “too wordy”, “too long”, etc.) and instead focus on the content of the article. What is your overall takeaway from the article? How could you apply the concepts in your classroom? You want to make sure you provide valuable information pertaining to your article and the strategy being discussed. Use examples from the article to support your personal reflection/reactions.

Each Journal Review must be 2–3 pages and in current APA format. You will need to use in-text citations throughout your journal review and make sure to reference the article used on the reference page at the end of the Journal Article review. Remember to follow current APA requirements throughout your paper (running head, title page, Times New Romans 12-point font, double-spaced, etc.); an abstract is not required for this assignment
