Learn what their experiences were like and how their lives changed during these three decades. Examples can be, but are not limited to: civil rights or other protest movements, Vietnam and/or Vietnam protests, Cold War/nuclear age, trends in music and fashion, Nixon and Watergate, deindustrialization and stagflation of the 1970s, Reagan’s America, and/or inventions or television shows that contrast with those of today. How did these years shape this person and our society, then and now? The point of this paper is for you to learn about the lives of actual people in the past from their own personal perspectives (and perhaps learn something about the past of a member of the family or friend), while learning that the generalities of history (with citations from your text to use as your generalities that we are learning about) may or may not coincide with individuals’ actual experiences.
