This means that the entire piano sonata has three movements (or sections) and one or more of those may be in sonata form. Likewise, a symphony may have four movements but only one or two of those movements might be in Sonata Form. We are looking for a specific movement of a concerto, sonata, symphony, string quartet piece, etc., that is written in the Sonata Form.
Do not just list the forms. Discuss the form. What makes it a “sonata”? How is it different from other forms? How does this piece specifically fit the form?
